The apartment door clicks shut and the hallway lights are dim. A woman leans against the wall to adjust her shoes, and the air around her carries a bright, prickly lift of pink pepper and lemon. The citrus is sharp at first, cutting through the quiet space with a clean energy that feels deliberate.
As she walks toward the elevator, the scent settles into something calmer. Lavender moves in with a soft, herbal touch, while frankincense adds a faint resinous weight that keeps the floral edge from floating away. The hallway smells aromatic and a little sacred, like a room where someone just lit a stick of incense.
By the time the elevator doors open, the base has begun to show. Tonka bean and vanilla create a rounded, sweet warmth that mixes with amber to form a powdery, golden cloud. It sits close to her coat, soft and spicy, turning the small mirrored space into a cocoon of comfort that feels appropriate for a cold night out in the city.
The fabric of her sleeve brushes against the door frame and the scent shifts again, the vanilla deepening into something almost edible while the amber glows quietly against the metal walls. She steps forward into the lobby as the scent continues to wrap around her, the frankincense still visible beneath the sugar.
