Fragrance notes
Character
The heavy door of a stone chapel swings shut, cutting the wind outside. Inside, the air is still and dim, lit only by the steady glow of burning resins. Frankincense rises first, a dry and reverent smoke that mingles immediately with the metallic, golden heat of saffron. This is not a light greeting but a thick atmosphere that wraps around the room. The space feels ancient and hushed, filled with a warmth that comes from the stone walls holding the day's fading heat.
As the evening settles, the resins deepen. Amber and myrrh create a rich, sticky heart that feels heavy in the air, softened by a ribbon of caramel that does not read as candy but as a dark, cooked sugar. White amber adds a clean luminosity to the mix, keeping the smoke from becoming too shadowed. Benzoin and vanilla ground the scene with a balsamic sweetness, while musk and cistus incanus lend a leathery, earthy weight that pulls the entire composition toward the floor.
The scent sits in the quiet air like a pool of melted beeswax on an altar stone, golden and unmoving. It carries the weight of the old stones and the sweetness of the offering left in the dark. The smoke curls slowly near the high ceiling, casting a fragrant shadow over the empty pews.
