Our take

Bulgarian rose jumps out first, bright and slightly peppery from the clove that sits beside it. The opening feels dressed up, like walking into a dim room where the lighting is low and the conversation has already started without you. Violet and ylang-ylang soften the rose quickly, turning the air powdery and a little nostalgic, as if the flowers were pressed between the pages of a book years ago.

Damask rose holds the center with a heavy, velvet texture. It does not float away from the skin, choosing instead to stay near the body and move only when the wearer does. Patchouli and sandalwood ground the florals, giving them a dark wood floor to stand on while the vanilla adds a creamy warmth that never turns sugary.

White musk lingers in the background, blurring the edges so the whole composition feels seamless rather than built in layers. The scent stays present for a good while once applied, though it keeps its distance from the wider room. It suits someone who likes a floral that carries weight and prefers a fragrance that feels personal rather than announced to everyone nearby.

There is a richness here that asks for patience, because the vanilla and musk need time to settle into the wood before the full picture appears, and even then the cloves keep pricking through the softness
