Our take

Myrrh by TRNP brings together cardamom, bitter orange, neroli, champaca, cloves, sandalwood, saffron, pandanus, may rose, oud, artemisia and myrrh itself. The blend reads as warm spicy, amber, floral, citrus, aromatic, sweet, balsamic and woody all at once. The citrus and spice notes give the first impression a bright and slightly sharp edge, while the florals add a soft lift that keeps the opening from feeling heavy. The saffron and cloves add a dry heat that sits alongside the orange and neroli without overwhelming them.

As the composition moves forward, the sandalwood and oud grow more present, supported by the resinous depth of myrrh and the balsamic quality that defines much of the fragrance. The pandanus and artemisia introduce a green, slightly bitter thread that cuts through the richness of the amber and sweet accords. The may rose and champaca provide a floral cushion that prevents the woods and resins from becoming too dense. The spices remain steady rather than fading, so the heart never loses its warmth.

The drydown rests on sandalwood, oud and myrrh, with saffron and cloves still visible and the balsamic accord wrapping the woods in a smooth, slightly sweet resin. The pandanus and artemisia keep the finish from turning fully soft. The limitation here is the price, which places the bottle out of reach for many who would otherwise wear it through a cool morning walk or a shaded afternoon outdoors.
