Our take

Rakez Blue opens with orange and bergamot that feel bright and immediate. Ginger adds a sharp edge that keeps the citrus from sitting flat. The top notes move quickly into the heart, where black tea brings a dry, slightly bitter facet. Incense adds a thin veil of smoke that never becomes heavy. Geranium sits between the two, offering a green touch that bridges the citrus and the resin. The transition feels smooth rather than dramatic, with each layer remaining distinct instead of blending into a single mass.

The base rests on ambroxan and guaiac wood. Ambroxan provides a clean, mineral warmth that anchors the lighter notes above it. Guaiac wood adds a dry, polished texture that pairs well with the incense from the heart. Musk softens the edges without turning the composition powdery. The overall impression is citrus first, then aromatic woods with a faint resinous trace. It stays on the sweeter side of fresh due to the orange, but the tea and wood keep that sweetness from dominating the wear.

The fragrance feels modern and polished, though the ambroxan can dominate the later stages if the initial citrus has already receded. The ginger loses its clarity once the wood and musk take over, leaving the opening as the most detailed part of the experience. The accord list promises green and fresh spicy elements, but the green note stays subtle while the spice remains a brief accent. The composition is pleasant and easy to wear, yet it lacks a middle phase with real depth.
