Our take

Rose Fatale opens with a brisk mix of pear, litchi, and lemon, brightened by a dusting of nutmeg. The fruit feels juicy rather than candied, and the spice gives it a gentle lift without turning sharp. This opening moves quickly into the floral heart, where rose oil takes the lead alongside peony and geranium. The rose is rich and slightly dewy, supported by the peony’s softness and the green edge of geranium. The transition keeps the fruit present in the background, so the flowers never feel dry or austere.

The base brings oud, labdanum, vanilla, and patchouli into the blend. The oud adds a dark, resinous depth that grounds the rose, while labdanum and vanilla contribute a warm, amber-like sweetness. Patchouli sits underneath, lending an earthy tone that keeps the sweetness from becoming too smooth. The overall impression is floral and woody with a clear amber and fresh spicy character, balanced by fruity and sweet facets that linger through the drydown.

The composition feels dense and layered, suited to cool air and dim lighting where its warmth can unfold. It carries a polished, modern finish that stays consistent from start to finish. The one drawback is that the lemon and litchi can read a bit synthetic in the first few minutes, giving the opening a slightly artificial sheen before the natural rose and oud settle in.
