As you walk further, the scent settles into the fabric of a thick wool scarf. The heart reveals itself not with a bang, but a steady, comforting heat. The cinnamon here is dry and dusty, devoid of the sticky sweetness found in a bakery, grounded firmly by the green, slightly peppery stem of geranium. It smells like a memory of a warm kitchen while standing in the middle of a frost-covered orchard.
By the time you reach the corner bodega to grab a coffee, the drydown has fully merged with the atmosphere around you. The base is a heavy, resinous blanket of myrrh and amber, providing a deep, golden warmth that feels like a physical weight on the skin. The sandalwood adds a creamy, smooth texture, while the vanilla is dark and smoky rather than sugary, preventing the composition from becoming a gourmand. It is a dense, intricate scent that commands a lot of attention. The limitation is the synthetic edge on the apple note, which can occasionally feel a bit piercing and artificial, breaking the otherwise naturalistic spell of the spices and woods.
