Our take

Selperniku opens with a bright citrus snap, lemon and petitgrain cutting through a green cypress haze, but that clarity barely lasts. Within minutes, the heart lunges into something absurd and wonderful: butter, warm and almost savory, tangled with apricot and chamomile like a picnic left out in the sun. The immortelle pushes a syrupy maple curry note while juniper and cardamom keep the whole thing from collapsing into jammy sweetness. It smells like a worn leather journal that has been stained with tea and left on a salt marsh overnight.

That kitchen weirdness settles into a dry down of milky sandalwood, salted tobacco, and a faint powdery fog. The longevity holds steady at around four or five hours, though the sillage stays close enough that only you and a companion might catch it. That is the point: this is a fragrance for sitting still and waiting. It suits people who want their green scents to come with a side of bizarre pantry logic, not people chasing compliments or fresh air. Skip it if you hate butter in perfume or need a bright lift.

Spring and fall are its real habitats. Wear it on a rainy afternoon when you want to smell like a cozy, slightly feral cafe. The 3.63 rating undersells its nerve, but then again, not every strange beauty needs a standing ovation.
