Our take

The Icon opens with a brisk slap of grapefruit and black pepper, a citrus-spice combo that feels more energetic than refined. The grapefruit is sharp, almost tart, while the pepper adds a sneeze-inducing jolt. As it settles, lavender and sage step in to soften the edges, but the lavender here is dry and herbal rather than sweet, and the sage keeps things earthy. The drydown brings sandalwood and oakmoss, a woody-mossy base that turns warm and slightly dusty. This is an Oriental Woody fragrance, but it wears like a sporty aromatic that got lost on its way to the office.

The overall character is a polite confidence, like a man in a slim-fit linen blazer at a midday brunch. It feels fresh and lightly spicy, leaning synthetic in that accessible designer way, but not offensively so. The problem is performance: longevity barely clears two hours, and sillage is a whisper. You get a pleasant 30-minute bubble that dissolves into a skin scent, which is a shame because the structure is decent.

This is for someone who wants a clean, inoffensive scent for spring days or summer evenings, or for the gym bag when you need a quick freshener. Skip it if you demand projection or all-day wear. Wear it on a warm Saturday afternoon when you plan to be close to people but not close for long.
