Un'Altra Estate comes in a bottle that looks far more expensive than the liquid inside costs, which sounds like a gift until you realize the presentation raises an expectation the scent cannot quite meet. The opening leans heavily on lemon and mint, bright and cooling in the way a chilled drink tastes when the sun is high, but the cardamom underneath gives it a faintly medicinal edge that never fully disappears. Thyme and lily-of-the-valley try to soften that sharpness, yet the orange blossom feels thin rather than lush, so the heart never settles into the round, confident floral the notes promise on paper.
What saves it is the base, where vetiver and white cedar extract pull the composition back from its own awkwardness. The wood adds a dry, grounding texture that keeps the lemon from screaming and gives the patchouli a clean surface to rest on. It smells like a lakeside terrace where someone has just set down a glass of iced tea beside a stack of books, the air warm and the water calm. The aromatic and green accords sit comfortably in that space, neither demanding attention nor fading into nothing, and the fresh spicy facet stays polite enough for close company.
