Our take

Grapefruit and bergamot lead the opening with a bright, peeling-rind sharpness that feels immediate. Vetiver sits right there with them from the first moment, earthy and damp rather than dry. Ambergris adds a salty, slightly animalic warmth that pulls the citrus away from anything clean or soapy. The heart carries a resinous weight from the Siam note, giving the middle a sticky, golden texture. Haitian vetiver in the base is darker and more rooty than the opening, pushing the scent toward soil and crushed stems. Musk smooths the edges without making the blend soft. Powdery and herbal facets drift through the composition, never settling into a single clear direction. The citrus stays present longer than expected, trading places with the woody accords instead of vanishing.

The mix of accords creates a crowded impression. Citrus, amber, musk, wood, spice, animalic, earthy, powdery, and herbal notes all compete at once. Too many directions flatten the identity. Composed by Jonah Simonak and launched in 2022, the fragrance feels unsure whether it wants to be fresh or heavy. The result is a vetiver that never fully commits to its earthy core.
