Our take

A wooden walkway stretches over a shallow lake in Hubei, the water just warm enough to blur the line between air and surface. Yún Mèng Zé sits close to the skin while pink lotus and rose open the air with a soft, aqueous transparency. It does not announce itself. The petals smell damp, as if lifted from the water that same morning, and the rose holds back its powder to stay inside the cool green mist rising off the reeds.

Grapefruit and litchi brighten the middle without turning the scene sugary. Blue lotus deepens the water note rather than adding a new color, and oakmoss grounds the fruit with a low, shaded green that feels like stepping from sun into canopy. The lake is wide here, and the scent mirrors that width: nothing sharp, nothing rushing, just a slow diffusion of citrus and flower across the skin.

Magnolia and musk take over with a quiet persistence. The magnolia is creamy but restrained, more leaf than petal, and the musk pulls it toward skin instead of projecting it outward. Green notes linger from the oakmoss, threading through the drydown so the floral heart never fully separates from the earth beneath the water. Mandarin orange appears in small flashes, a bright rind scent that avoids juice, keeping the base dry and close.

The walkway ends at a pavilion where the air settles. Moss clings to the wood. Lotus leaves curl at the edges. The scent stays in this green, milky space, neither rising nor fading, simply occupying the same humidity as the skin, present and uncommented, as if the lake had decided to remain here permanently.
