The opening citrus burst is a brisk, sunny slap of blood orange and mandarin, tart enough to feel like you’ve just sliced the peel. That brightness fades quickly into a dual rose heart: Grasse and May varieties, both lively and slightly candied, with lily of the valley adding a green, dewy shimmer. The patchouli base is polite, earthy but never muddy, letting the florals sit on a clean wooden bench rather than sinking into shadow.
The overall character is exactly that: a spring picnic blanket spread under a cherry tree, the petals drifting onto a linen dress. It feels fresh and floral upfront, then softens to a faintly sweet, powdery skin scent. The construction is solidly mainstream, with a synthetic edge that keeps it from being truly natural, but it’s not cheap. François Demachy aimed for youthful elegance and landed there, albeit with a short attention span.
Longevity is a whisper at best, around three hours, and sillage hovers close like a polite acquaintance who doesn’t want to impose. The numbers don’t lie. This is for the woman who wants a delicate, safe floral for daytime, spring brunches or office wear, and who reapplys without resentment. Skip it if you crave projection, depth, or anything nocturnal. Does a rose need to shout to be enjoyed? Not really, but it helps if it lingers a little longer. 🌸
