Our take

Juniper berries open Orphéon with a sharp, gin-like snap, unusual and immediately recognizable, before jasmine and a wash of powdery notes soften things through the heart. Staying power lands in the middle, comfortable for normal wear, and the sillage stays modest, a quiet cloud that mostly follows the wearer. Cedar and tonka bean close it out, warm and a little sweet, with the powderiness from the base pulling the whole thing toward something drier and more austere.

The note list is short, and the composition reads spare and almost minimalist, built from four notes rather than the usual crowded pyramid.

Jasmine carries most of the floral weight alone, with no supporting white flowers to round it out, which keeps the scent feeling more linear and controlled than most powdery woody ambers.

Olivier Pescheux is credited as the perfumer, and the juniper opening is the most distinctive choice in the whole composition, sharp enough to read as slightly unconventional against a fragrance this soft everywhere else. It works best for quiet, minimalist tastes, more of a considered daily wear than a bold statement piece.
