Our take

Navus opens with a bright citrus jolt, grapefruit and bergamot slicing through the air like cold water hitting hot stones. Pink pepper and juniper add a fizzy, almost alcoholic spark, while neroli and orange keep things leaning sweet rather than sharp. The heart is where the trouble starts. Ylang-ylang and jasmine roll in thick and waxy, amber wrapping them in a syrupy warmth that feels more synthetic than natural, more boudoir than boardroom. Rose peeks through, but the white floral blend dominates, turning the fragrance into a creamy, almost cloying haze. The drydown saves it somewhat: vetiver and cedar provide a clean, woody backbone, and musk softens the edges into a wearable skin scent. The overall picture is a well-dressed man in a humid greenhouse, overdressed and slightly sweaty, holding a glass of spiked orange juice. This is a spring and summer daytime scent for someone who likes their florals bold and their citrus sweet, but the middling longevity (3.48) and sillage (3.16) mean it stays close to the skin after an hour or two. It feels more mainstream designer than niche, with a synthetic sheen that lacks nuance. Who should wear it? Someone who wants a cheerful, unisex floral with a citrus twist and does not mind reapplying. Who should skip it? Anyone looking for depth, spice, or an aromatic fougère. This is a safe, pretty spritz for brunch dates, not for making a statement.
