Gosha Rubchinskiy Гоша Рубчинский

Character
Gosha Rubchinskiy opens with a curious, almost jarring burst of buchu, that South African shrub with its blackcurrant-camphor tang, and angelica’s green, slightly bitter stalk. It’s not trying to charm you. Within minutes, the chamomile steps in not as a soothing tea but as a dry, hay-like whisper, while a fleeting mandarin orange adds a faint, dusty sweetness that never fully commits. The heart is an aromatic tangle, powdery and herbal, like crushed weeds left to warm on a concrete slab. As it dries down, styrax lends a subtle, smoky resinousness, and patchouli with Haitian vetiver ground everything in a woody, earthy base that feels more like an afterthought than a destination.
The overall character is a worn leather jacket left on a park bench overnight, damp with morning dew and faintly floral from the chamomile in its lining. It’s natural, almost raw, yet distinctly synthetic in the way Comme des Garçons likes to keep you off balance. It feels like a quiet protest against sweetness.
But let’s be honest: this fragrance barely performs. With longevity under three hours and sillage that evaporates before you’ve finished your coffee, it’s more a whisper than a statement. Perfect for intimate spring and summer days when you want to smell interesting only to yourself, but skip it if you need a fragrance to last through a work shift or a dinner out. It suits the person who values texture over volume and doesn’t mind reapplying.
