Our take

Aldehydes hit first, cold and a little waxy, in that classic vintage way, before basil and citrus brighten things and a huge bouquet of carnation, rose, jasmine and lily moves in through the heart. Coriander adds a faint green spice through the transition, easy to miss under so much floral volume. Staying power runs long, well past the point where the top notes burn off, and the sillage has real presence, catching the attention of people nearby without much effort. Sandalwood, vanilla and tonka bean round the base into something warm and softly powdery, with musk holding the sweetness in check.

This is an old-school maximalist floral, built from a genuinely enormous note list, richer and busier than most modern florals attempt. Jasmine and rose dominate the heart, backed by carnation's spicy edge and a wash of lily and lily-of-the-valley, giving the bouquet real depth rather than a single-note simplicity.

It leans formal and a touch old-fashioned by current standards, best worn somewhere that calls for a proper perfume, not a light everyday spray. The huge floral heart is the whole point, unapologetically maximalist in a way few current releases attempt.
