De Costa Rouge
Fragrance notes
Character
Bergamot, apple, and lime open the fragrance with a bright, juicy lift. The citrus feels clean and immediate, though it steps aside before long.
Rose and patchouli take over with a floral earthiness that avoids heaviness. The rose stays fresh rather than powdery, while the patchouli adds a damp, soil-like depth that keeps the flowers from floating away.
Labdanum, vanilla, and musk form a base that is warm, resinous, and slightly sweet. The vanilla here is thick and golden, blending with the amber accord to create a balsamic glow. Musk softens the edges so the resin does not feel sharp. This part of the wear is the most generous, wrapping the skin in a woody, spicy blanket that feels crafted rather than rushed.
A terrace in the late afternoon, sun still warm on the stone floor, a glass of cold citrus water resting beside a bowl of fresh roses and vanilla beans.
