Our take

Seaweed is the note that gives Aqva Pour Homme its identity, a cool, faintly briny thread running quietly under the citrus. Mandarin, orange and petitgrain open bright and a little sharp, and the sillage stays a small halo that holds for a fair stretch once lavender and cotton flower move in. Cotton flower softens the seaweed's brininess into something calm and easy to wear.

Virginia cedar and clary sage give the aquatic feeling some backbone, so it never turns thin or watery on the skin. Amber and patchouli sit low in the base, present but not heavy, and the woody, powdery finish is dry rather than sweet. Someone drawn to clean, aquatic scents built around a strong marine note will find plenty to like here, and the citrus opening never fully disappears, resurfacing faintly whenever the lavender settles. Petitgrain is easy to overlook next to the seaweed, but it is doing quiet work the whole time, giving the top a slightly bitter, woody structure under all that brine. It suits spring and summer best, an easy choice for the office or an afternoon near water, and evening does not really call for it.
