Our take

Aqva Pour Homme Marine opens exactly where the name points: grapefruit and neroli over a genuinely briny, marine accord built from water notes and seaweed, the kind of aquatic fragrance that smells like an actual coast, not a lab construction. Composed by Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, it keeps the citrus sharp enough throughout that the whole thing never settles into plain soap.

Rosemary adds an herbal edge to the middle, and Virginia cedar and amber in the base give it real weight, grounding the marine accord instead of letting it stay thin and watery. Petitgrain and mandarin orange keep circling back into the mix even as the cedar and amber take over, so the citrus never fully disappears, staying power landing in the middle, neither quick to vanish nor especially stubborn, and the aquatic trail stays light, noticed mainly at close range.

It is built entirely for warm weather, spring into summer, and makes little sense once the temperature drops. Wear it for the gym, the beach, anywhere a clean, salt-air freshness is welcome, the grapefruit and seaweed doing most of the talking and the amber quietly holding everything together underneath.
