Our take

Classique Pride 2023 opens with a sharp, almost abrasive burst of blood orange and yuzu, a citrus combo that feels more like a flash of neon light than a gentle sunrise. It promises a juicy, tart thrill, but within minutes the heart arrives with neroli and orange blossom, and the whole thing collapses into a powdery, synthetic white floral haze. The base is a limp whisper of musk and white woods, barely there, like a shirt you forgot to wash. This is a fragrance that evaporates before it has a chance to make an impression. Longevity is a cruel joke at 1.79, and sillage hovers somewhere between a polite nod and an apology. It’s the olfactory equivalent of a rainbow-colored feather boa that fades to gray within an hour.

The overall character is a sugar-spun cloud of citrus and orange flower water, sweet and fresh and utterly weightless. It’s a spring and summer day scent, purely for daytime, and it feels aggressively mainstream, the kind of synthetic-clean that might please someone who doesn’t like perfume. If you want a brief, happy spritz for a hot afternoon brunch, this could work. But anyone looking for depth, longevity, or a signature presence should walk right past. Created by Gracia-Cetto and Bisch, it’s a rainbow flag that barely waves.
