Our take

Lavender and mint open Le Male Elixir fast and cool, but that lasts only a moment before honey and tonka bean pull it toward something much sweeter and heavier. Vanilla and benzoin thicken the middle into a warm, resinous block, and the shift from cool mint to thick honey happens faster than in most fragrances built this way.

Tobacco shows up in the base, dry and leafy against the honey and vanilla, with amber adding depth underneath and tonka bean tying the sweetness together into one dense accord. Mint gives the opening a brief green lift, a quick contrast before the sweetness takes over completely and never really lets go again.

Staying power runs long-lasting, and the sillage turns noticeable, leaving a real trail behind the wearer well past the moment of application. It is dense and syrupy, built to be felt in the air around a room, not just up close to the skin.

Honey, vanilla, and tobacco make it rich and heavy, best worn with a light hand, given how much it projects once it has had time to settle.
