Our take

Coconut and salt do a lot of the work here, conjuring sun on skin instead of suncream sweetness, helped by mint and ginger up top keeping things sharp. The ginger has real bite before it settles, and mint keeps a cool current running underneath the whole opening. Fig fills in behind the coconut with a green, slightly milky note that stays short of fully ripe.

Watery notes and green notes frame the whole thing, so even as tonka bean and sandalwood settle in at the base, the open-air feeling never fully leaves. Quentin Bisch built it around brightness that holds steady as it warms, letting the woody base show up without ever turning the fragrance heavy or dark. The transition from coconut and salt to tonka and sandalwood happens gradually, with no hard seams anywhere in the structure.

On skin it wears with real persistence, holding a close-range presence that suits summer skin more than a heavy coat. Spring holds up well too, though this is clearly built for warm weather and bright light over the cold months, when the whole composition would likely feel out of place. Salt is the note that lingers longest in memory, an odd, clean thread under all that coconut and wood.
