Our take

Epic Man opens with an unusually crowded spice rack: pink pepper, saffron, nutmeg, cardamom, caraway and mace all firing at once, backed by olibanum's resinous edge and a green lift from myrtle. It's loud and a little chaotic for the first stretch, more like walking into a spice market than spraying on a fragrance, and Randa Hammami doesn't rush to calm it down.

Myrrh and geranium eventually settle the heart into something a touch more floral and bitter, but the real shift happens in the base, where oud, leather and castoreum turn genuinely smoky and dark, patchouli and styrax thickening it into something dense and resinous.

This isn't a quiet fragrance to sit near, even though projection itself stays modest. Sillage is felt mainly by the wearer and whoever stands close, but the density of the composition gives it real weight in that close space, and it settles in for good once it's down to the base.

Wear this in cold weather, somewhere formal or serious, since the smoky-resinous character doesn't do casual well. It's a fragrance built for someone already comfortable with oud and heavy orientals, demanding in a way that rewards patience rather than immediate love, and it stays memorable long after the bottle is empty.
