Lyric Man
Fragrance notes
Character
Lyric Man puts rose at the center of a men's fragrance and does not apologize for it. Lime and bergamot open bright and citrusy for a few seconds before rose takes over, backed by angelica, ginger and orange blossom, a heart that feels more like a unisex floral than a typical masculine spice bomb, unusual for a house built on incense-heavy orientals.
Saffron and nutmeg add a dry, spiced warmth alongside the rose, and galbanum threads a bitter, green note through the middle, giving the flower an edge closer to crushed stems than a bouquet.
Musk, incense and pine tree carry the base into something darker and more resinous, and sandalwood with vanilla brings a final layer of warmth, so the drydown ends up warm and soft rather than austere.
It is long-lasting on skin and carries real reach, present enough that people clock it as you walk past, which fits a composition this rose-forward and confident. Spring and fall suit it best, equally at home in an office or at a formal dinner, an Amouage rose built around structure as much as scent, closer to a tailored jacket than a bouquet.
