Our take

Kenzo World EDT opens with a crisp, almost candied pear top that, paired with bergamot, feels like the first snap of a fresh green stem. The heart quickly turns soft and powdery. Peony and almond blossom smooth out the rose into something more polite than passionate, while white musk and orris root in the base dust everything in a fine, cosmetic haze. This is a fragrance that behaves like a polite guest. It arrives, nods, and then quietly disappears before dessert.

The overall character is a freshly watered bouquet left too long on a vanity. Pretty, but losing its nerve. Created by Francis Kurkdjian and Maia Lernout, it wears as a mainstream floral with a synthetic sheen that stops just short of being cheap, yet never reaches for anything luxurious. The Iso E Super and vanilla give a faint woody sweetness underneath, but the whole thing feels like a sketch rather than a finished painting. With a longevity barely scraping 3 out of 5 and sillage that stays close enough to be a secret nobody asked for, it is a spring afternoon affair. Best suited for someone who wants an easy, inoffensive spritz before brunch or a desk job. Anyone craving depth, presence, or a fragrance that leaves a mark should walk right past. It is the floral equivalent of a nod across the room. Pleasant enough, but you will have forgotten the face by the time you are out the door.
