Homme Sport 2021
Fragrance notes
Character
Lemon, bergamot and aldehydes open Dior Homme Sport 2021 on a bright, almost sparkling note, the kind of freshness built for a gym bag or a beach bag rather than an evening jacket. Elemi and pink pepper give the heart a resinous, faintly peppery lift, and woody notes, olibanum and amber round out a base that stays warm without ever turning heavy. François Demachy kept the structure lean, letting the citrus carry most of the weight, without burying it under spice, so the citrus stays legible even as the woods and amber take hold underneath.
It wears with unexpected durability for a citrus-led composition, and sillage is contained, picked up mainly by whoever you happen to be standing near or talking with. Summer is its clear home season, with spring close behind, and the day-and-night figures lean heavily toward daylight hours, exactly what the name promises.
There is nothing complicated about this fragrance's ambitions: clean citrus, a little amber warmth, and a composition built to survive heat and movement without turning thin. Pink pepper gives it a small spike of dry spice right where the citrus would otherwise flatten out, and that's really the whole trick of the thing.
