Black currant and red berries open Eau de Parfum II on something tart and dark before cassia and bitter orange add spice to the fruit, giving the top a warmer, almost cinnamon-adjacent edge that plain berries alone would not carry. Blackberry carries that darkness into the heart, where peony, violet and freesia soften it with a powdery, slightly cool floral quality.
Jasmine and lily-of-the-valley round out an already busy middle, and mandarin orange adds a brief citrus lift near the top, balancing out the darker berries. Cedar, musk and heliotrope settle at the base, heliotrope in particular adding an almond-like sweetness that ties the fruit and flowers together into one idea.
This works well for a bright morning commute or a casual lunch, somewhere fruit and flowers can sit together without heaviness. Staying power runs average, present through normal daytime wear without insisting on much attention.
The sillage is a small, fruity cloud, reaching whoever stands beside you at the register or the table. The violet note is worth lingering on, since it gives this straightforward fruity floral a slightly powdery, old-fashioned signature of its own.
