Flora Gorgeous Gardenia
Fragrance notes
Character
Pear blossom opens soft and a little milky, with red berries and Italian mandarin giving it a quick, juicy brightness that never turns sharp. That lactonic creaminess carries through: gardenia and jasmine in the heart lean milky more than heady, and frangipani folds in a tropical sweetness without making the composition heavy. Honorine Blanc composed it in 2021.
Brown sugar and patchouli round out the base, adding a faint woody warmth under all that white floral and a touch of powder as the sugar settles. The persistence here is only middling, and that brown sugar stays close and personal on the skin, worn like a whisper rather than an announcement. That closeness is worth knowing going in if what you want is a scent that carries, since this was never built with amplitude in mind.
Spring and summer are its natural season, worn in daylight while the pear and mandarin stay bright and the gardenia stays soft, never indolic. It works well as an easy, milky floral for warm weather, gardenia without the weight some white florals carry, good for the office or a quiet day outdoors. Anyone chasing a bolder, longer-lasting white floral, something with a heavier gardenia note and more reach, will find this one lighter and quieter than expected, built around softness more than intensity.
