Our take

Météorites Le Parfum opens with a crisp green apple snap, all tart fizz and wet leaves, before a cool violet drift takes over. That signature Guerlain orris dusts everything in a fine, pale powder, while mimosa and a shy rose hum beneath. The drydown settles into a clean white musk with just enough sandalwood to keep it from evaporating into nothingness. This is not a perfume that announces itself. It feels like an heirloom compact opened in a quiet garden, the faint scent of pressed flowers and polished wood clinging to your fingertips. Light, airy, and deliberately synthetic in the way Guerlain’s softer florals often are, it sits close to the skin and asks to be noticed rather than admired from across the room. Thierry Wasser crafted a scent for the woman who wants to smell expensive without shouting about it. And that is precisely its charm and its frustration. The longevity clocks in at a disappointing two and a half hours, and the sillage barely reaches a friendly whisper. Wear this on a mild spring afternoon, a linen dress and a sun-dappled terrace, knowing it will fade before you do. Skip it if you want projection or if your day runs past lunch. But for those who love a powdery violet that feels like a secret, this one is a lovely, fleeting pleasure. 🌸
