Our take

Raspberry hits first, tart and bright against a citrus wash, before almond blossom and jasmine bring My Insolence to its true register: sweet, slightly nutty, closer to marzipan than fresh fruit. Christophe Raynaud and Sylvaine Delacourte built the heart around that almond facet, and it dominates everything else in the composition once the top notes clear, pulling the jasmine along with it rather than letting the flower stand on its own.

Vanilla, tonka bean and patchouli form a warm, dusty base, giving the drydown a slightly bitter edge that tempers the sweetness with something more grown-up. The patchouli adds a rougher, earthier note under the almond and vanilla, a small dose of grit in an otherwise soft composition. The composition wears with real tenacity, the raspberry-almond sweetness staying dense and full for its whole run. The trail is gentle and close-worn, surfacing mainly when someone leans in for a hug.

My Insolence works across most of the year outside of high summer, and what stays with you afterward is that bitter-almond finish, more marzipan than fruit basket by the end. It suits mornings and afternoons equally well, an easy fragrance to reach for without much thought.
