Sour cherry and almond open together in Black Perfecto, tart against sweet, before black tea settles the initial fizz into something calmer. Thierry Wasser built this on an odd enough pairing that it earns a second sniff, and rose with licorice threads through the heart, giving the fruit a darker, medicinal-sweet edge rather than the candied turn a cherry note usually takes.
The drydown belongs to leather, tonka bean and patchouli, with a trace of black musk pulling everything toward animalic territory. It reads less like dessert and more like a leather box someone left almond candy in overnight, sweetness and skin-warmth sitting on top of each other without either one winning. Projection sits close, noticed mainly within arm's reach, and the wear holds for a fair stretch, not dramatic in either direction.
Wear it toward evening, especially once autumn turns to winter, since the cherry-almond opening reads warmer under low light than in bright sun. It won't suit anyone wanting a clean, transparent fragrance, but for a gourmand with genuine teeth in its base, Black Perfecto is a rare one that follows through on its opening promise.
