CK One Summer 2017 opens with a crisp slap of cucumber and lime, a citron edge that feels like biting into a cold, watery slice of summer. The heart quickly turns peppery, ginger and saffron adding a dusty warmth that clashes with the initial freshness. On skin, the drydown is a faint musky whisper with a ghost of guaiac wood, barely there. The overall effect is like drinking a cocktail on a beach that someone has already finished: you get the ice and the garnish but almost none of the booze. It is unabashedly synthetic and mainstream, a designer summer flanker that knows exactly what it is.
