Wedding Bouquet

Character
Bright morning sun warms the terrace where a small gathering stands among potted citrus trees. A slice of bergamot peel releases its sharp, clean oil into the air, cut immediately by the heavy cream of gardenia and the crisp bell of lily. Rose adds a soft blush to the air, its petals visible in the bouquet someone holds close to their chest. The flowers do not float above one another. They sit together in a dense, living cluster that smells of fresh stems and cool water.
Feet shift on the stone floor as the scent settles into a soft bed of sandalwood and iris. A faint animalic breath moves through the powdery musk, giving the white petals a warm skin underneath. The air feels dressed but not stiff, full of pale greens and creamy woods that belong to a garden in full bloom. Sunlight catches the silk of a sleeve and the gloss of a leaf at the same time, while the whole scene rests inside a single, perfect circle of pale pink roses and damp earth.
