Our take

The library is quiet except for the soft scratch of a pen moving across heavy paper. Téméraire sits in the crook of the wrist like a smear of dark ink that has not yet dried. Clove leaf and cardamom arrive first, dry and brisk, more aromatic than sweet. The spice does not shout. It hums against the skin while tuberose and jasmine begin to open, creamy and tall, with iris laying a cool powder over the petals. There is an animalic warmth moving through the flowers, something that feels alive rather than polished. Cade oil pushes in from the base, resinous and woody, while benzoin softens the edges with a gentle amber glow. The air smells of old books, fresh ink, and a bouquet that refuses to stay still.

A hand reaches for another volume on the upper shelf, and the scent shifts again as the wrist bends. The tuberose grows heavier near the veins, the iris retreating just enough to let the cade oil show its smoky side. Cardamom lingers in the background like a memory of the morning. The ink accord deepens, blotting the white floral brightness into something darker, almost shadowed, as the benzoin continues to warm the air around the wrist
