Our take

Afterglow opens with a promising burst of apricot and coconut, sweet and almost syrupy, like the last sticky lick of a melted popsicle on a sun-warmed afternoon. A quick citrus flicker cuts through the sugar, then vanishes. That lactonic heart of milk and vanilla orchid arrives fast, soft and clean, with ambrette lending a faint musky fuzz and lavender peeking in like a polite guest who won’t overstay. The drydown settles into cashmere wood and amber, smooth and powdery, a cozy blanket that smells vaguely familiar, vaguely expensive.

This is a fragrance built for proximity. It feels like a warm hug from someone who just stepped out of a vanilla-scented bath, not synthetic, but not exactly natural either, a polished mainstream oriental woody that knows its audience. The problem is that audience will need to lean in close. With longevity barely scraping two and a half and sillage under two stars, Afterglow whispers when it should murmur. It evaporates faster than morning dew on a hot sidewalk.

Who should wear it? Someone who wants a gentle, sweet skin scent for lazy Sunday mornings or early dinner dates, preferably in spring or fall when the warmth lingers. Skip it if you demand presence or projection. That said, it works beautifully for daytime, and if you are willing to reapply, the sheer comfort might be worth the trouble. Could this scent be anything more than a fleeting afterthought?
