Our take

Proraso’s Azur Lime opens with a sharp, cold spritz of lime zest and mint, the kind of slap that wakes you up before you’ve finished pouring your espresso. That initial clarity is genuine, almost clinical, but juniper berries soon slink in with a faintly gin-like herbal warmth that softens the citrus into something more contemplative. The dry down is where the magic fades, and I mean that literally: a whisper of moss, a puff of clean musk, and the ghost of patchouli hold on for barely two hours before the whole thing evaporates. Sillage is a polite arm’s length at best, which for a citrus aromatic is almost a relief, but longevity is a genuine frustration, even on skin that usually clings to scent. This fragrance is a barbershop’s sunlit window on a June morning, all frosted glass and fresh-cut limes stacked in a wooden bowl, with no ambition to be anything more than that. It feels natural, not synthetic, but largely because it’s too fleeting to detect any seams. Azur Lime suits anyone who wants a cheerful, unfussy splash before heading to work or the beach, and who doesn’t mind reapplying after lunch. Skip it if you need a fragrance to survive a full day or wish to leave a trail, because this one is a quick, lovely apology, not a promise. Wear it with rolled-up sleeves in the summer heat, and accept that it will be gone before you are.
