The heart shifts toward rose and oud, where the flower offers a soft, powdery presence and the wood brings a dry, resinous weight. Patchouli and benzoin round out this stage with an earthy, balsamic depth that leans sweet without becoming heavy. As the fragrance settles, labdanum and vanilla create a thick, amber-rich base that feels smooth and slightly sticky. Leather adds a firm, tannic line through the sweetness, giving the drydown a structured finish that stays warm and resinous.
The fruit at the top can feel synthetic and a bit sharp against the saffron, creating a brief clash before the heart notes take over. Once the rose and oud settle in, the sweetness from vanilla and benzoin grows prominent and may overwhelm the wood if applied with a heavy hand. The leather is present but stays in the background, never dominating the amber and floral mix. This is a dense, sweet oriental that works best when the air is cool and the mood is relaxed. The synthetic edge in the opening and the high level of sweetness are the clear limitations here.
