Our take

Below Zero opens with mandarin orange and lavender that give a bright, clean start. Nutmeg and sage sit behind them and add a mild spice that keeps the citrus from feeling thin. The opening feels fresh and slightly sharp, then the orange blossom and cedar in the heart soften the edges. Orange blossom brings a white floral tone that is sweet rather than heavy, and cedar adds a dry wood that steadies the floral side. The movement from the top to the heart is smooth, with the spice fading as the flowers take more space.

The base carries musk and patchouli that make the drydown musky and a bit animalic. Patchouli adds earthiness while musk keeps the finish close and soft. The soapy accord runs through much of the wear and gives the whole fragrance a washed, groomed feel. It stays sweet without becoming sugary, and the white floral and citrus notes prevent the woods from turning dark. The materials read as synthetic but pleasant, and the overall impression is neat and approachable rather than complex or daring.

Below Zero suits daily use and casual settings where a clean, easy scent is welcome. It works well for morning routines and informal plans, offering a fresh profile that asks little from the wearer. The limitation here is the depth of the blend. The notes stay on the surface and the composition does not develop much character as it moves forward. It smells fine, yet it lacks nuance and never quite feels distinctive.
