Our take

The sun sits low over the water at Cape Andaman. You stand near the tree line where the sand gives way to scrub, the air thick with salt and heat. A spray of petitgrain, bergamot, and neroli cuts through the humidity like a cool cloth against the skin. The citrus is bright and bitter, the neroli adding a clean white floral lift that feels like a breeze moving through a linen shirt. It is sharp and clear, a green and aromatic opening that matches the glare on the waves.

The ambergris heart settles in slowly, softening the edges of the scene. It carries a salty, animalic warmth that smells of damp skin and sun-heated stone. This is not a polished laboratory note. It feels raw and coastal, pulling the fragrance away from a simple citrus splash and anchoring it to the shoreline. The air around you grows heavier, the fresh spicy accord mingling with the scent of dry vegetation and ocean spray.

Virginia cedar joins the amber at the base, adding a dry, woody foundation to the salt. The amber is smooth and powdery, wrapping the cedar in a golden haze that smells of sun-bleached driftwood. The green and white floral traces from earlier still hover, but they are now submerged in this warm, animalic resin. The scent becomes a second skin, a mix of wood and salt that feels carved out of the landscape itself.

The cedar deepens, its dry bark scent mixing with the lingering powder of the amber while the ambergris continues to exhale that mineral, sea-air breath into the evening light, the whole composition blurring into the sound of the tide pulling at the shore
