Corazones Perfumados has a problem with identity. The fruit opens the door with watermelon and melon, but the talc and almond in the heart pull it toward a powdery softness that feels at odds with the juicy start. It wants to be a bright, aquatic stroll through a garden and a cozy, gourmand bite at the same time, and the two impulses never quite settle into one clear mood.
Composed by Mario Saldivar for Gula, this 2024 release carries blueberry and peach through a haze of cotton flower and jasmine. The rose and sandalwood base tries to ground the blend, yet the overall impression stays light and ozonic, like a breeze moving across a bowl of sliced fruit on a patio table surrounded by blooming white flowers. It is sweet without becoming heavy, and the woody finish keeps the edges from feeling entirely synthetic.
The clash is the price of admission. If you prefer a fragrance that knows exactly where it stands, this one will feel indecisive, because the aquatic freshness and the powdery gourmand facets keep tugging in opposite directions. It is a pleasant wear for daytime in warm weather, but the lack of a single clear direction means it never fully commits to the mood it creates.
