Cryptic
Fragrance notes
Character
Cryptic opens with a cool, airy lift from aldehydes and magnolia, softened by a faintly vegetal carrot note and the matte touch of suede. The entrance is light and slightly sparkling, never sharp, and it fades gracefully into the floral heart without a sudden drop.
The core gathers Turkish rose, Moroccan rose, iris, and peony into a powdery, slightly spicy bouquet. The roses feel refined rather than lush, and the iris adds a dry, root-like texture that keeps the flowers from becoming sweet or candied.
The drydown is the longest part of the composition. Musk and amber create a warm foundation, while oakmoss, oak, and a trace of castoreum introduce an earthy, forest-floor depth. This base feels grounded and slightly animalic, turning the initial brightness into something more serious and skin-like.
Daylight suits this scent best, especially in a bright room where the aldehydes can catch the air and the powdery roses feel natural. The scent stays near the body and carries through a morning without demanding attention, like a linen curtain moving in a breeze.
