Our take

Désirs Interdits Acte I opens with pink pepper and Calabrian bergamot that provide a bright, slightly spicy lift. Hazelnut and pistachio enter immediately with a roasted, nutty texture that keeps the citrus from feeling sharp. The opening feels busy but coherent, with the pepper adding a thin, crisp edge to the richer nuts.

The heart turns heavy and creamy. Indian tuberose and ylang-ylang push forward as loud white florals, while coconut and vanilla coat them in sweetness. Chestnut and praline deepen the gourmand character so the flowers sit inside a dessert-like blend rather than floating above it. The transition moves the fragrance from crisp to thick in a short span.

Amber and tonka bean form a warm, rounded base that carries the vanilla already present in the heart. Musk smooths the edges, and cotton candy adds a sugary, airy sweetness that leans juvenile next to the heavy florals. The base does not introduce new directions. It repeats the existing notes in a denser form and holds the gourmand profile together.

The composition piles sweet element on sweet element until the floral detail nearly disappears. Tuberose and ylang-ylang are present, but the praline, coconut, and cotton candy leave little room for the flowers to read clearly. The nutty opening promises more contrast than the heart and base actually deliver. The fragrance is very sweet throughout and lacks a dry or bitter counterweight to balance the sugar.
