Our take

You open a bottle of Egeo Blue and the first thing that hits you is a bright, spritely blast of ginger and lemon, a citrusy black pepper snap that feels like a glass of cold tonic water on a sticky afternoon. Saffron adds a faint leathery warmth, and for a moment you think this might be something special. Then cardamom and a curious malt note come in, sweet and slightly toasted, like the floor of a brewery that once held a bakery. Geranium provides a green, almost powdery pivot into the base, where vanilla and cashmeran create a soft, fuzzy cushion over patchouli and vetiver. The overall effect is a fragrance that starts crisp and ends cozy, like a linen shirt that’s been starched, worn for an hour, then left in a drawer next to a vanilla candle.

It feels distinctly mainstream, smoothed over and polished, but pleasant enough in a polite, democratic way. The problem is that it evaporates faster than a polite goodbye. With a sillage rating of 2.58 and longevity barely over three hours, Egeo Blue is a whisper that fades before it finishes its sentence. Who is this for? Someone who wants an inoffensive, low-commitment scent for a casual lunch or a day at the office, where projection would be a nuisance. Skip it if you crave presence or if you’re paying more than a bargain price. Wear it in spring or fall, when its warm spicy accord can nuzzle into a light jacket, and accept that by the time the check arrives, you’ll be left with only a memory of that fizzy, ginger-tinged opening.
