Our take

Grapefruit, bergamot, and lemon open with a brisk, sunlit citrus that feels clean rather than sweet. The brightness is immediate and sharp, giving the first moments a crisp energy that suits a cool morning walk or a brisk start to the day. Elemi and geranium follow, adding a resinous green lift that keeps the opening from feeling like a simple grocery store shower gel.

The drydown moves toward tonka bean, patchouli, oakmoss, and a soft vanilla accord. This is where the air turns earthy and mossy, with a balsamic warmth that settles close to the skin. It is aromatic and woody, carrying a fresh spicy edge that feels grounded rather than loud. The blend stays smooth, never tipping into heavy syrup.

Picture a damp path under bare trees with a light jacket keeping the chill off your shoulders. The scent fits that kind of air, where the cold is present but not biting. It feels at home in that space between seasons when the light is pale and the ground smells of wet earth and fallen leaves.

Joseph Rubino composed a fougere that balances bright citrus with deep, mossy roots. The limitation here is the synthetic edge that creeps into the heart, where the geranium can smell a bit plastic and flat. That sharpness interrupts the natural feel and may bother anyone who expects a smooth, realistic green note throughout.
