Our take

Heat Wave opens with a sharp, herbal lemon that feels like the first crack of midday heat on pavement, artemisia adding a bitter, almost medicinal twist before the flowers take over. The heart is a dense tangle of night blooming cereus, jasmine, and ylang ylang, a white and yellow floral riot that is less delicate and more aggressively creamy, as if the blossoms are sweating under a relentless sun. Then the base drags in coconut and vanilla, a sweet, benzoin-laced warmth that softens the floral spike into something closer to a sun-drenched suntan lotion left out too long. The whole thing is a silk scarf soaked in sweet tea and forgotten on a hot terrace, humid and slightly sticky.

This is a thoroughly mainstream floral, polished and synthetic in the way Prada does best, but it lacks guts. With longevity and sillage both hovering just above three, Heat Wave evaporates faster than a puddle on asphalt, leaving only a ghost of coconut and powdery vanilla behind. It works beautifully as a breezy spring or summer daytime scent, especially when the sun is high and you want something that holds a faint, pleasant aura without demanding attention. But if you crave projection or a scent that lasts through dinner, skip it. Who is this for? The person who wants to smell like a tropical bloom for a few hours and doesn’t mind reapplying. It is pretty, it is ephemeral, and it knows exactly how much space it deserves.
