Our take

Ikon opens with a brisk slap of cardamom and ginger, lemon cutting through with a citrus sting that is immediately tempered by the herbal bitterness of artemisia. It feels like stepping into a spice market that is about to rain. The heart turns powdery and resinous, cloves and cinnamon wrestling with French labdanum and orris root, creating a slightly dusty, almost liturgical sweetness that never succumbs to cloying. As it dries down, incense and cedar take over, vetiver and patchouli adding a dry, earthy anchor while amber warms the edges. The whole composition smells like a fur-lined coat that has been hanging too long near a church censer, grand in intention but intimate in execution.

This is a woody spicy fragrance that leans heavy and warm, but there is an unresolved tension between the freshness of the top and the balsamic base. It feels synthetic in a way that reads mainstream designer, not niche, yet the warm spicy accord gives it a contemplative gravity. The numbers are honest: longevity is moderate, sillage disappointingly close to the skin, which is its deepest flaw. You will need to reapply or press your nose to your wrist to catch the incense.

Wear Ikon in autumn and winter evenings, when you want to feel cloaked rather than announced. It suits the man who prefers a book and a glass of bourbon over a crowded bar. Anyone expecting a beast mode projector or a bright citrus romp should move along, this one keeps its secrets close.
