Our take

This opens like a fistful of sticky fruit salad hurled into a sunbeam. Grapefruit and black currant smash into each other with a tart, almost aggressive energy, while red apple adds a waxy sweetness that feels more like a candy aisle than an orchard. The heart is where things get complicated: a polite, soapy rose floats over magnolia’s creamy petals and a sharp green hyacinth that refuses to sit still. Michel Almairac clearly knows his florals, but here they feel like they’re wearing clothes that don’t quite fit. The base of cedar, musk, and amber tries to ground the mess into something warm and slightly powdery, yet the drydown remains a polite whisper that evaporates within three hours, barely leaving a skin scent.

The overall character is a bright, synthetic floral fruit basket left out on a warm spring counter, pretty but forgettable. It feels mainstream in the best and worst sense: accessible enough to please a crowd, but lacking the weird, surrealist soul you’d hope for from a Dali namesake. The average rating of 3.31 out of 5 and weak longevity (2.71) and sillage (2.74) confirm it’s a brief, close-wearing affair, best for a casual daytime coffee run or a light classroom spritz when you want a whiff of spring without overwhelming anyone. Who should wear it? Someone who wants a cheerful, easy floral without commitment. Who should skip? Anyone expecting depth, drama, or more than two hours of presence. It’s a daydream that wakes up too soon. 🌸
