M4DNESS opens with Madagascar vanilla, driftwood, caramel and toffee. The vanilla is rich and dark, and the caramel and toffee add a thick, heavy sweetness. Driftwood brings a dry, pale wood that sits beside the sugar without softening it.
The heart introduces coal tar pitch, blood, white musk, patchouli, cypriol and Java vetiver oil. Coal tar pitch and blood create a sharp, mineral and metallic character that dominates this stage. Patchouli and cypriol add earthy depth, while white musk and vetiver keep the texture dry and firm.
The base continues with ambergris, vanilla, benzoin, cedar, birch, oud and Java vetiver oil. Oud and birch bring smoked wood and a resinous weight, while ambergris and benzoin add a warm, animalic foundation. Cedar and vetiver hold the composition upright as the vanilla lingers underneath.
The mineral and metallic accords run through the entire structure. It suits a cold night where the air is sharp and the darkness feels close. The scent stays close to that mood until the end. The final impression is mineral and metallic.
