Our take

Moon Carnival opens with a burst of pink freesia and passionfruit that is almost giddy, a tart and fizzy invitation before the white floral trio crashes in. Tuberose, gardenia, and orchid arrive together like a bridal party that has had one too many champagnes, heady and slightly unhinged. The sweetness builds fast, marshmallow and vanilla melting into tonka bean, but there is an animalic undercurrent beneath the candy floss, a faint skin warmth that keeps it from tipping into pure dessert. This is a fragrance that wants to be a midnight parade, petals thrown from a float and sugar raining down, but the motor is sputtering.

For all its promise of a carnival, the actual ride is disappointingly short. Longevity barely breaks three hours on most skins, and sillage hovers close like a secret you keep repeating. That low 2.78 projection means you are wearing this for yourself, not the room, which may frustrate anyone expecting the tuberose bomb promised by the notes. The scent itself feels more synthetic than natural: the passionfruit is a glossy candy version, the florals smoothed into a photorealistic but diffused haze. It is not cheap, but it leans toward mainstream accessibility, a safe bridge between niche and Sephora.

This is a spring or summer day fragrance, best worn when you want to feel playful without shouting. It suits someone who enjoys sweet white florals but prefers intimacy over presence. Skip it if you need lasting power or want your tuberose to bite. One question lingers: why invite us to a carnival if the music fades before the first ride ends?
